If the thought of swimming in the open sea with a ton of other competitors makes you feel like a fish out of water, our 20-Week Online Training Program is your life-saver.


Starting January 28th, 2024, this program features three weekly training sessions that you can complete at your own pace in your local pool. After each session, you'll answer a few questions to track your progress over the 20 weeks.

With our Ironman Swim Program, you'll gain the confidence you need to enjoy the Ironman or 70.3 swim, leaving you with plenty of energy to tackle the ride and run portions of the race!

About Coach Irene

As a lifelong swimmer, it was a natural move for me to dive into ocean swims and triathlons after moving to Australia from the Netherlands. I mean, who wouldn't want to train in paradise, right?

But, let's be real, I wasn't exactly a pro cyclist or runner. Luckily, I had an amazing coach who helped me tackle those weaknesses and crush the Cairns 70.3 in 2014 and 2015. Crossing that finish line was pure magic. I was in tears, feeling like a total superhero.

Now, my passion is to coach others to achieve their Ironman or 70.3 race goals.


I still compete in long-distance races and ocean swims myself, like the Magnetic Island to Townsville Swim, Lake Barrine Bash, and Noosa Ocean Swim.

During my triathlon journey, more and more people approached me for swimming help. "You make it look so easy, please teach me!" And that's how Swimfit was born in 2015. I wanted to help adults conquer the swim leg of triathlons and ocean swims and master the art of freestyle.

Over the last 8-9 years, I've coached hundreds of people to finish their first triathlon, Ironman, 70.3, or ocean swim.


And, guess what? There are some basic fundamentals that, when done right, can help anyone become a confident swimmer.

"I've always trained for swimming on my own, having tried a few swim programs in the past, paid a fortune, and simply been given an enormous list of generic drills and over-complicated technical things to work on - as an age group triathlete aiming for open-water swims, this wasn't for me.


I was impressed with the way Irene explained the purpose of each drill (no more time-wasting drills!), and gave simple, fundamental advice to fix my swim stroke with maximum yield.


I went from smashing myself in the pool and standing still with my swim times (approx 40mins for the 70.3 distance) to swimming smoother, stronger and more in control of my swim - in the space of 3 months, Irene took me to a 34min swim at Geelong 70.3 last year, which was an enormous PB for me!
